Just for All You Expecting Moms!

This one is for all of you expecting moms who are trying to get a head start on making sure your baby has the best possible chance developmentally…

Did you know that scientific research has shown that by the time your baby is six months developed in utero, he or she has already begun to hear sounds in and around their cozy little womb?! And what sound is as clear as can be?  Mother’s voice!  By the time a baby is born it recognizes its mother’s voice (and fathers too if he had been speaking to mommy’s belly!) and if a certain song has been frequently sung by mom, the baby will show recognition of the song and often responds by stopping all activity to listen to that song, including crying!   By the time a baby is three months old, he or she is already recognizing and responding to many types of music…!

Now here’s a little food for thought – If you sing everyday and listen to music while you are pregnant –  say, in the car or at home, your little growing miracle can hear it too…which means that when he or she is born, your baby is already hard-wired to recognize and respond to this music!

Just by knowing these simple little facts, you are more knowledgeable than a majority of expecting mothers out there when it comes to early music enrichment…why not take the next crucial step towards encouraging your baby’s already budding appreciation for music?

Call us at Music Rhapsody and find out about all the exciting and stimulating classes we offer for children as young as three months old!  If you’d like to start as early as possible with your newborn, we even have a DVD: “Babies Make Music” that will give you wonderful activities to enjoy together at home starting from day one!  As a parent, you will never regret investing in your little ones education – no matter what age you begin! (and you can never start too early!)  We know what a gift early childhood music education is and our parents and students do too – (it’s no wonder that we have former students coming with their little ones!)

One of our little ones really getting into the music!

It’s Friday! Pop Quiz!

Quick quiz – can you fill in the blanks? I bet you can! (the answers are at the bottom of this post)

1.      Twinkle, twinkle little ________________
2.      I’m a Little ____________________
3.      Mary Had a Little _______________
4.      Baa-baa _______________
5.      Old MacDonald Had a _________________

How did you do? I’m willing to bet you did pretty well…I’d even venture far enough to say that you knew every single one of the answers!

Now let me ask you this: did you learn these songs when you were an adult? I doubt it! You learned these songs as a child and although you might feel a little silly saying that you knew what each one of those songs were – it has a much deeper meaning…knowing those songs proves how important and fundamentally necessary music is!
Now would those questions be on a college exam? It’s pretty doubtful however, I bet you can’t actually remember when you learned each one of those songs and yet you KNOW how to fill in those blanks…because they are basic childhood songs you are exposed to at an early age…you were also exposed to other fundamentally important tools such as LANGUAGE (Which is how you are able to read this post…!).

The point I’m trying to get across to you today is that music, like language, is a basic learning necessity which should to be incorporated into every child’s learning experience. It’s a crucial step towards developing many important skills…and whether you actually believe that statement or not, what you CAN believe is that Music Rhapsody has been teaching children about music for nearly thirty years…you can come in and register your child for music classes at Music Rhapsody right now and begin developing your child’s love for music while also helping to contribute towards the development of so many other skills AND you can do so with the peace of mind that with almost three decades of being in business, we truly know how to help incorporate music into your child’s life in a unique and positive way – because we do it every day with passion…and there aren’t very many educational establishments who can say that!

The Power of Music

Can you think of a movie you’ve seen recently that didn’t have a musical soundtrack?  I can’t. Why do you think that is? It’s because music is a very powerful thing…

A single note played on a violin can make a movie seem more exciting or even sad. It can bring you up when you’re down. Music gets you feeling and moving – tapping your toes or wiggling your hips. Music can even prompt a memory long forgotten…

When it comes to our senses, there aren’t many things which affect us like music does!

Now here’s the part you really need to digest: music is also one of the things which gets overlooked and taken for granted when it comes to encouraging our children to learn more, become more – even DO more!

Music is an integral part of paving the road towards your child’s educational success…and the best part about what we do at Music Rhapsody is that there is no guess work! We really know what we are doing (because we’ve been doing it for nearly thirty years!)  Call us today and we will find a class that is perfect for your child – we offer classes for all ages – from babies to teenagers and you won’t find yourself packed into a chaotic room with 20 children – we offer several classes per age group with the specific purpose of making sure that your little one gets the most out of the Music Rhapsody experience.

Even the most ambitious parents can put things off…and not just little things – IMPORTANT things…things like early exposure to music education…

The benefits of early exposure to music are undeniable; therefore I won’t go into how important it is. (Just read Friday’s blog!) Too many statistics can get overwhelming and that’s the last thing we all need these days! So today’s blog is about how you can do something which will help your child to become a better and more rounded person (and this is from the moment they begin too!)

At Music Rhapsody we offer classes for children as young as three months old…yes – I said three MONTHS! Start as early as possible! The benefits are so incredible you’ll wonder why you didn’t start earlier!

Early exposure to music is more than a way to entertain your baby – it’s a gift! If you’re looking for a way to enrich your baby’s life call us today to set up a free introductory class to see how wonderful we are! (And YES! All of our teachers at Music Rhapsody are WONDERFUL!)

Attending classes at Music Rhapsody is one of the easiest ways you can jump in with your little one and begin the lifelong journey of music enrichment!

HAVE A COW!!

Early exposure to music has to be fun right?! At Music Rhapsody – it’s always so exciting and fun to get children up and “MOO-VING”! (The pun was intended!)

One of the ways we make our classes exciting and so much fun for children and parents is the incorporation of our amazingly cute puppets, one of which was sadly discontinued earlier last year…but at long last, we are getting Farmer Brown’s Cow puppet back and I am absolutely over the “MOOO-N”  about it!

If you haven’t been in a class with Farmer Brown’s Cow in it then why not schedule a class with us today?! You can see how cute she is in person and join in with the “MOO-SIC”!
