Music Rhapsody In Schools

Lynn Kleiner has been a certified music teacher in the schools since 1978 and has her master teacher certification in Orff Schulwerk. After moving to Southern California in 1983 and finding no music programs based on the Orff Schulwerk program in the schools, she created Music Rhapsody. Lynn and her team of teachers now see thousands of children in their schools. Lynn became a leader in the field of early childhood education and Orff Schulwerk, becoming the first teacher to present baby and toddler workshops for the American Orff Schulwerk Association and many conferences for the National Association for Music Education.

What is Orff Schulwerk

Children learn the elements of music while they create, explore and move. Students are introduced to the Orff tone bar instruments and many types of percussion plus important musical concepts and vocabulary. Language, movement, rhythm and melody are used in game form to help develop children's mental concentration, self-concept, coordination and creativity while building a strong foundation for any future musical pursuit. This experience is essential before the specific skill of note reading is taught.
